Urban deer hunting returns this fall to Ames County Iowa

Ames Iowa is allowing urban hunting for the 13th consecutive year. I truly wish more municipalities would adopt this policy. Great read here on an up and coming trend in whitetail hunting.

Washington State to pay property owners to allow deer hunting

Ok, so maybe this is NOT a whitetail article, but interesting none the less. The local deer herd is getting too big and the State of Washington is willing to pay landowners to open their property to hunting. Makes me wonder the precedent it will set for other states moving forward.
